Airbag Module Reset

Airbag reset and module

What is an airbag reset?

Resetting an airbag module involves performing a “factory reset” to reinstall the airbag into its module, which should turn off the airbag light. After an accident, the airbag control module must be reset to be reused. This process clears fault codes generated by the accident and turns off the airbag light.

What is an airbag module?

The airbag module functions as the brain of your vehicle’s airbag system. It is usually located centrally in the vehicle to ensure proper protection. In most cars, the airbag module is positioned in the centre console near the handbrake, although its exact location can vary from one vehicle to another.
